Clara was born April 23, 1933 in Owen County Indiana to Tom and Hazel Thompson, she was the youngest of 13 children and grew up at "Brissell Ridge", the family home site.  After completing high school she moved to Indianapolis with her sister Norma.  Soon she met and married William Dollard, together they had four children, Cindy, Chris, Bill, and Billie Sue.  She gained four step-children in the marriage Ernie, Gloria, Margie and Jimmy, whom she also loved.  She was employed at Central State Hospital for over 30 years and retired when it closed in the 90's. She then followed some of her patients to The Hamilton Center Group Home where she continued to care for them. Clara was baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost in 1992 at Heavenly Life Apostolic Church, she also attended Mount Zion Apostolic Church. She loved the Lord, She loved both of her Pastors; Reverand Terry Cannon and Bishop Lambert Wade Gates, Sr. , her children and her friends, all closely followed by the Chicago Cubs, the Cincinnati Reds and a friendly game of cards.  Clara grew up playing cards with her parents and siblings and this love stayed with her throughout her entire life. Clara was never a traveler, a shopper or an on the go kinda person.  The perfect day for her was sitting in her easy chair watching a ball game (or the game show channel when a game wasn't on) and sipping iced tea or coffee and playing a round of Hand and Foot Canasta with family and/or friends.  Clara was a special lady she loved the way Christ loved.  She accepted people just they way they were.  She believed what she believed and shared it with others, but loved with an unconditional love.   Regardless of  one's  religious beliefs, one's color, race, sexual orientation, or vice she treated them the same and loved them ..... just like Jesus does.  Granny made her journey home on August 4th, 2006 and is and will forever be sadly missed, sweetly remembered and loved always.
